Dr. Nezhat established a minimally invasive surgery division and fellowships at three hospitals, thereby providing training opportunities for innumerable fellows, residents, medical students, and national and international visiting physicians. He was one of the first to perform, publish and teach laparoscopic and robotic surgery in gynecology and oncology.
Currently he is the Director of a postgraduate surgical Fellowship offered by NYU Winthrop Hospital, the clinical campus of Stony Brook University School of Medicine. This is a highly sought after multidisciplinary program, attracting nationwide applicants, concentrating on malignant and benign pelvic and gynecologic pathologies.
Additionally, he is the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery, a faculty position at NYU Winthrop Hospital.
